The assistant and secretary obediently left the area.
Only Chu Chen was left waiting on Pei Ziheng.

“Not possible.” The doctor assured. “We’re a big hospital, and our processes are stringent and by the book. If you don’t believe me, you’re free to get a second opinion in another hospital.”
Pei Ziheng instructed Chu Chen. “Transfer her.”
Chu Chen understood him clearly. This was a serious matter, and he did not dare make the decision on which hospital to transfer Xia Ling to. After verifying with Pei Ziheng, he transferred Xia Ling to another Tier 3A hospital in the city that had absolutely no relation to Compassionate Peace Hospital and Huaxin Mother and Child Specialist Hospital.
The results of the test in the new hospital came out to be exactly the same as Compassionate Peace Hospital. It indicated that the child Xia Ling was carrying was more than three months old.

The child was clearly sucking its own fingers and moving slightly in Xia Ling’s uterus. It looked calm with its eyes closed.

Chu Chen spoke up. “Doctor Liu, you might be unaware… We thought that the child was only two months old, then the fall would definitely not be a problem. However, if the child is three months old, then the situation is very different. Miss Ye was taking too many antibiotics during that period, and I believe that it is bad for the child.”

Chu Chen sensed his boiling rage and said to the doctor, “Doctor, you don’t have to persuade anymore. Just tell us directly if the surgery can be done. If you don’t want to abort the child, we will transfer hospitals immediately.”
Doctor Liu’s expression contorted in his dilemma. “If Mr. Pei insists on aborting the child, the surgery can be done. However, it cannot be done now. Miss Ye just had a fall and is still unconscious. Her condition is fragile now. If we do the surgery immediately, it might endanger her life. My suggestion is to allow her to recuperate for a few weeks before we do the abortion surgery.”
This was a sincere suggestion, but also encompassed Doctor Liu’s fear of responsibility that would come with the abortion.

Pei Ziheng looked at the unconscious girl lying on the bed, his expression complicated. She had fooled him, and he should not be bothered at all about her condition. If it were any other woman, why would he care if she died on the surgical table? But he could not let that happen to her.

When Xia Ling woke up, she was in the bungalow, lying on the soft bed.

Nanny Zhou said, “Mister went to the office. He said that he will be busy for some time, so he might not be home every day for dinner.”
